The MMO History
People have been living in the virtual worlds for almost 50 years, since 1974. For some they have become a second home. Here they socialize with friends, set up homes, go on adventures, and even make real money. Wars, protests, epidemics, heroes and dollar millionaires - it is people who make the history of the virtual worlds. And if millions of people became participants and creators of unique events that change our reality, these events must be recorded, and their artifacts preserved for history.
The MMO History is
Virtual wars
Spies, intrigue and the destruction of millions of dollars worth of items
Epidemics and protests
People's behavior in virtual society mirrors the real one
Famous personalities
Sometimes even one person can make a difference in the lives of millions
Artifacts
At this point, they are media files and internet pages, as well as models of textures, items, and characters. Event day forum posts, world media articles, YouTube videos, Twitter posts - many are decades old. Even now, the originals are often only archived or lost.

Soon we will be faced with the emergence of unique virtual items.

Why do it?
The intertwining of our real life with virtual and augmented life is inevitable, and to make it more comfortable, we need to look at the history of the social and cultural traditions and phenomena that have influenced millions of virtual residents. Also, studying history helps us understand how virtual space will evolve in the future. For example, when participating in the frenzy of buying virtual land in metaverses in 2022, it was worth taking into account the experience of Anshe Chung, who made a million dollars on it back in 2006. It is also necessary to study and preserve the history of the virtual worlds according to all the rules of science - to rely only on reliable data, to keep a chronology of events, to preserve digital artefacts and, of course, to popularise its study among the next generations.
